A Poem for the Mexican Bicentennial
The Mexican Bicentennial…IS TODAY,
so take yourself a holiday!
Have yourself a margarita Thursday,
And celebrate MEXICO’s happy Birthday!
Since Independence 200 years,
and 100 of those since the Revolution gears!
But no more time for rhymin’,
It’s time to get jivin’!!!!

The Mexican Bicentennial Celebrations
The country of mañana celebrates its Independence a day early, and then uses the actual day to get over the hangover!!!
What can we say? The bicentennial was a bust. Apparently a large majority of the funds stayed in D.F. and basically we were duped.
We saw it on t.v. and it was kind of good but not really. We were invited to a couple of parties, but it was too much of a hassle to get around the city- so we celebrated from the couch.
I’m eerily reminded of the millennium celebrations…too much security and not enough fun…
