We did finally go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atinytrip.com\/santiago-chile\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1734\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the art museum that was closed<\/a> during the strike, but it wasn&#8217;t even worth the trip downtown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New Years was a party! And D&#8217;s birthday ended the endless meals and celebrations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.atinytrip.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/DSCN0146.jpg\" alt=\"Looking down into grocery cart with Watts barnd jam, sahne-nuss chocolate, bags of chocolates, coffe, and pisco\" class=\"wp-image-2529\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.atinytrip.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/DSCN0146.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.atinytrip.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/DSCN0146-240x320.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Before the flight home we went to the grocery store to stock up on Chilean favorites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Favorite Chilean Snacks to Buy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Watts brand jam &#8211; we liked these made with mostly fruit and sugar!<\/li><li>Pisco sour powdered mixer &#8211; to easily make Chile&#8217;s most famous cocktail<\/li><li>Alto Carmen brand Pisco &#8211; Chile&#8217;s national liquor; this is one of the better brands<\/li><li>Nescafe espresso instant coffee<\/li><li>Sahne-nuss brand chocolates &#8211; very sweet milk chocolate with almond pieces<\/li><li>Miel de palma (palm syrup)- can be used like maple syrup or honey with a slightly different flavor<\/li><li>Negrita brand chocolate bars &#8211; these are like two vanilla cookies with vanilla frosting in the middle all covered with chocolate.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Flying Home to Mexico<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the flight back to Mexico, Copa may have redeemed themselves with decent airplanes and edible food.
